Jesse Weinberg contacted me a couple of months ago offering to feature my work on her lovely visual travel blog, Globel Yodel. Her philosophy is:
TRAVEL THROUGH A LOCAL LENS.
"Global Yodel is based on one simple idea: ones home is another’s destination.
This website explores the places and cultures of our globe, from the perspective of someone who really knows their spot, the local. This place-specific gallery, travel guide and artist showcase is as practical as it is just plain fun."
I was stumped for a while and finally created a collage with a Cassandra Church as Frida Kahlo shot with an everyday scene of Santa Monica Pier. It was a fun exercise coming up with something interesting in my own backyard. I actually had to get away to the desert and shoot there, in order to find my inspiration back home.
