i find that i have to be careful about my sources of inspiration. there's just so much out there that it's easy to loose your vision in the brilliance of others. it's great when friends can act as filters for you and send you the cream of the crop.

paris electric

i'm starting to play around with my paris shots. i want to make them electric as i did with a series of los angeles shots a couple of years ago. the goal will be to put a blurb book together.

playing god

exploring up in topanga. i created a tree using sticks and leaves. kind of a weird exercise. definitely makes one appreciate the perfection of the real thing.

this image reminded me of the film in a way. the idea of being human and living our lives, for the love of it. and because we have no other choice. in any case, the film and this image seem to illustrate a sense that we're all in it together.

i'm in the process of reading " a wind in the door" by madeleine l'engle (Link) to lilly and right now we're inside charles wallace's body. the colors of this image feel like they could be the inner workings of the vascular system...

teens in topanga

this was my first shoot up in my studio/location in topanga. i had my amazing friend/photographer/assistant vu helping me light, remain calm and i even learned how to use a generator for my strobes. nina the amazing make up / stylist extraordinaire and the wunderkind hair man life of the party jonathan. the models kaisley and josiah are from jet set models in la jolla. my favorite agency.
